Lectures of Dr. Elise Derroitte at the Ateneo de Manila University
Dr. Elise Derroitte of the Université Catholique de Louvain will present two public lectures sponsored by the Europhilosophie Programme of Erasmus Mundus and the Department of Philosophy, School of Humanities.
The first lecture will be on Benjamin’s “The Chockerlebnis in The Comments on Baudelaire.” It will be held on the 11th of September, at 4:30 pm, at CTC Rm. 201.
The second lecture will be on “The Notion of Melancholy in Benjamin and Schelling” and will be held on the 21st of September from 10 am to 12 noon at the Faura AVR. In this lecture she will also discuss the program of the Europhilosophie and how scholars can apply to its scholarship program.
The lectures are open to the public.
